My fascination as a friend was watching Nicola honouring her must. As the names came through for each character in her book. Watching her bringing each person to life, dressing them, giving them Characters. Building a whole story around them, has been so inspiring for me..
As she shared chapters with me, I would sit in her office close my eyes and be transported to other dimensions and time. It was not a genre I was familiar with, but I embraced every chapter, feeling happy, feeling sad, getting excited..
But my biggest joy as a friend was watching the book grow from a seed to a birthing.
Her gift as a wordsmith was something I treasured with every chapter..
Through writing this book over 3 years life happened, the death of Nicolas much loved mother, the death of her dear pets who had aged and there time here was finished, the arrival of grandchildren and health issues. Forgot about moving house, but she kept shining and I would say to her with all this going on you are writing a F…ing book..
So inspired I am, I’m not going to tell you about the book, go on the journey through the underworld, the treasures of the forest, death, great love, enjoy every chapter and be transported to the realms of fantasy and like me wait for book number 2.
